Un duel spectaculaire jusqu’au bout
Le Servette Rugby Club de Genève s’est imposé au terme d’un match totalement fou face à l’US Seynoise (38-34), lors de la 10ᵉ journée de la Poule 2 des Espoirs Nationaux. Les deux équipes ont offert un affrontement spectaculaire, riche en essais et rebondissements.
Un début de match électrique
La rencontre démarre sur les chapeaux de roue avec un essai genevois signé Tornel Rodriguez dès la 3ᵉ minute, transformé par Ruiz. Mais la Seynoise réplique immédiatement : Jankowski (7ᵉ) puis Greneche (11ᵉ) permettent aux visiteurs de prendre l’avantage, avec deux transformations de Csali.
Ruiz ramène ensuite le Servette dans la partie avec une pénalité (18ᵉ), avant qu’Yborra ne redonne l’avantage aux Genevois à la 23ᵉ minute. Seyne ne lâche rien et Wehner marque à son tour à la 28ᵉ minute (transformé par Csali). Deux nouvelles pénalités de Ruiz permettent toutefois au Servette de rentrer aux vestiaires à égalité : 21-21.
Une seconde période sous tension
Dès la reprise, Yborra poursuit son festival en inscrivant une pénalité (45ᵉ), mais Csali répond immédiatement côté Seynoise. Le match reste équilibré, porté par un engagement total des deux camps.
Le tournant intervient à l’heure de jeu : Chavanon marque un essai important pour le Servette (60ᵉ), transformé par Berenger. Malgré un carton blanc quelques minutes plus tard, Genève continue de pousser. Yborra, homme du match, inscrit un nouvel essai transformé (69ᵉ) qui donne de l’air aux Grenats.
Malgré un carton jaune côté genevois (71ᵉ), la Seynoise réduit une dernière fois l’écart grâce à Félix (76ᵉ), bien transformé par Berenger. Mais le Servette contrôle la fin de rencontre et s’impose finalement 38 à 34.
Une victoire au caractère
Dans un match rythmé et indécis jusqu’à la dernière minute, le Servette a su faire preuve de réalisme et de sang-froid pour l’emporter. La Seynoise, valeureuse et dangereuse, repart sans la victoire mais avec de solides arguments.
Une rencontre spectaculaire qui a tenu toutes ses promesses.

A spectacular clash right to the end
Servette Rugby Club de Genève claimed victory at the end of a truly wild match against US Seynoise (38–34), on Matchday 10 of Pool 2 in the Espoirs Nationaux competition. Both teams delivered a spectacular contest, full of tries and momentum swings.
An electric start
The match began at full speed, with a Geneva try from Tornel Rodriguez in the 3rd minute, converted by Ruiz. But Seynoise reacted immediately: Jankowski (7’) and then Greneche (11’) scored to give the visitors the lead, with both conversions slotted by Csali.
Ruiz then brought Servette back into the game with a penalty (18’), before Yborra restored the advantage for the Genevans in the 23rd minute. Seyne kept pushing, and Wehner scored in the 28th minute (converted by Csali). Two more penalties from Ruiz allowed Servette to reach halftime level at 21–21.
A tense second half
Right after the break, Yborra continued his strong performance by scoring a penalty (45’), but Csali quickly answered for Seynoise. The match remained finely balanced, with both teams showing total commitment.
The turning point came around the hour mark: Chavanon scored an important try for Servette (60’), converted by Berenger. Despite a white card a few minutes later, Geneva kept up the pressure. Yborra — the man of the match — struck again with a converted try in the 69th minute, giving the Grenats some breathing room.
Despite a yellow card for Geneva in the 71st minute, Seynoise closed the gap one final time thanks to Félix (76’), well converted by Berenger. But Servette managed the final minutes smartly and secured the 38–34 win.
A victory full of character
In a fast-paced and unpredictable match until the final whistle, Servette showed composure and efficiency when it mattered most. Seynoise, valiant and dangerous throughout, left without the win but with plenty of positives.
A spectacular encounter that lived up to all expectations.
