Une victoire solide et méritée pour nos Espoirs
La rencontre s’est déroulée sous une météo fraîche, avec une neige tombée très bas. Malgré ces conditions hivernales, le terrain offrait de très bonnes conditions pour jouer. Dans ce contexte, les Espoirs ont livré un match sérieux et combatif face à une équipe de Vienne accrocheuse.
La première mi-temps a été particulièrement fermée. Les deux équipes ont tenu bon défensivement, livrant un vrai combat dans l’engagement. Les occasions ont été rares et il a fallu attendre la 31e minute pour voir le score évoluer, grâce à une pénalité transformée par T. Csali. Les Espoirs rentrent ainsi aux vestiaires avec un avantage de 3 à 0, un score peu habituel qui reflète l’intensité de cette première période.
Au retour des vestiaires, les efforts consentis en première mi-temps ont laissé des traces. La seconde période s’est montrée plus ouverte, laissant apparaître des espaces dont les Espoirs ont su profiter. Dès la 42e minute, S. Desrieux inscrit le premier essai de la rencontre, transformé par T. Csali.
Vienne réagit rapidement et revient au score grâce à un essai de F. Bidault à la 45e minute, relançant la partie. Les Espoirs poursuivent toutefois leur dynamique et reprennent de l’avance avec un essai d’E. Pascaud à la 52e minute. Le match devient alors plus rythmé et spectaculaire.
Très en vue, B. Wehner s’illustre ensuite en inscrivant deux essais (57e et 73e minutes), tous deux transformés par J. Berenger, permettant aux Espoirs de creuser l’écart. Vienne ne lâche rien et réduit de nouveau la marque avec un second essai de F. Bidault à la 63e minute, avant d’ajouter une pénalité en toute fin de rencontre par G. Viez.
Malgré cette réaction, les Espoirs restent sérieux jusqu’au coup de sifflet final et s’imposent sur le score de 24 à 18. Une très belle rencontre, engagée et disputée, conclue par une victoire bien construite et bien méritée pour nos Espoirs.

A Solid and Well-Deserved Victory for Our Espoirs
The match was played in cool weather conditions, with snowfall reaching low levels. Despite these wintery conditions, the pitch offered very good playing conditions. In this context, the Espoirs delivered a serious and combative performance against a determined Vienne side.
The first half was particularly tight. Both teams showed strong defensive discipline, engaging in a real physical battle. Clear scoring opportunities were rare, and it was not until the 31st minute that the score changed, thanks to a penalty successfully converted by T. Csali. The Espoirs went into the break with a 3–0 lead, an unusual scoreline that reflected the intensity of the opening period.
After the break, the efforts made in the first half began to take their toll. The second half proved more open, with spaces appearing that the Espoirs were able to exploit. In the 42nd minute, S. Desrieux scored the first try of the match, converted by T. Csali.
Vienne responded quickly and reduced the gap with a try from F. Bidault in the 45th minute, reigniting the contest. The Espoirs maintained their momentum, however, and extended their lead with a try by E. Pascaud in the 52nd minute. The match then became more fast-paced and entertaining.
Highly influential, B. Wehner went on to score two tries (57th and 73rd minutes), both converted by J. Berenger, allowing the Espoirs to increase their advantage. Vienne refused to give up and once again closed the gap with a second try from F. Bidault in the 63rd minute, before adding a penalty late in the match through G. Viez.
Despite this late response, the Espoirs remained focused until the final whistle and secured a 24–18 victory. A very fine match, full of commitment and intensity, ending in a well-constructed and fully deserved win for our Espoirs.
