Avant même l’ouverture officielle de la 49ᵉ édition du Paléo Festival, les médias étaient conviés le lundi 20 juillet à une conférence de presse un peu particulière. Cette année, les organisateurs ont innové en proposant une conférence itinérante directement sur le site du festival. Équipés d’audioguides, les journalistes ont découvert les nouveautés de cette édition tout en parcourant les différents espaces du festival. Une excellente initiative qui permettait de mieux comprendre l’organisation du plus grand festival en plein air de Suisse et de s’immerger dans son univers avant même l’arrivée des premiers festivaliers.
Le lendemain, les portes de Paléo se sont ouvertes sous une chaleur estivale. Comme chaque année, des milliers de festivaliers ont répondu présents pour vivre six jours de concerts, de spectacles, de découvertes culinaires et de convivialité. Entre les nombreuses scènes, les espaces de restauration, les bars et les animations, chacun pouvait déjà retrouver cette ambiance si particulière qui fait le succès du festival depuis près de cinquante ans.
Pour cette première journée, Showmedialive vous emmène à la découverte de six artistes répartis sur plusieurs scènes. Notre parcours débute au Dôme, situé au cœur du Village du Monde, consacré cette année aux pays nordiques. Une immersion dans les traditions scandinaves où musique, culture et décors transportent immédiatement les visiteurs vers les terres des Vikings.
🎸 Maustetytöt
👥 Qui sont-elles ?
Originaire de Finlande, Maustetytöt est un duo composé des sœurs Anna et Kaisa Karjalainen. Depuis plusieurs années, elles séduisent le public avec une musique mélancolique et poétique, portée par des textes sensibles et une atmosphère très personnelle.

Entre indie pop, folk nordique et influences électroniques, Maustetytöt développe un style intimiste où chaque chanson raconte une histoire avec beaucoup de délicatesse.

C’est Maustetytöt qui ouvre officiellement notre couverture du Village du Monde. Peu à peu, le public s’installe sous le Dôme, découvrant un univers tout en douceur. Les deux musiciennes créent immédiatement une atmosphère apaisante qui contraste avec l’effervescence du reste du festival. Une belle entrée en matière qui donne le ton d’une programmation nordique particulièrement prometteuse.

👤 Qui est-elle ?
Révélée grâce à son énergie débordante et à ses textes engagés, Suzane s’est imposée comme l’une des artistes incontournables de la scène francophone actuelle. Chanteuse, danseuse et performeuse, elle transforme chacun de ses concerts en un véritable spectacle.

Entre électro-pop, chanson française et danse contemporaine, Suzane construit des performances modernes où la musique, le mouvement et les émotions ne font qu’un.

Direction ensuite la Grande Scène pour retrouver Suzane, de retour à Paléo pour la troisième fois. Fidèle à elle-même, elle occupe l’espace avec une énergie impressionnante. Un immense écran en fond de scène suffit à accompagner un spectacle où tout repose sur sa présence, sa danse et sa relation avec le public.
La foule, venue en très grand nombre, lui réserve un accueil exceptionnel. Puis survient un moment totalement inattendu. Alors qu’elle remercie le public d’avoir permis à l’un de ses albums d’être certifié disque d’or, une personne monte sur scène pour lui remettre officiellement son trophée. Un instant rempli d’émotion qui restera certainement parmi les images fortes de cette première journée.

Skald est un groupe français inspiré par les traditions musicales nordiques. À travers leurs compositions, ils revisitent les chants ancestraux scandinaves en mêlant instruments traditionnels et sonorités contemporaines.

Retour au Dôme où l’ambiance continue de monter en puissance. Avec Skald, le voyage se poursuit au cœur de la Scandinavie. Les costumes, les instruments traditionnels et les chants puissants plongent immédiatement les spectateurs dans une autre époque.
Impossible de rester insensible à cette musique qui touche autant le cœur que l’imaginaire. Le public se laisse emporter par cette expérience hors du temps, confirmant que le Village du Monde est l’un des lieux incontournables de cette édition 2026.
🎸 Sprints
👥 Qui sont-ils ?
Originaire de Dublin, Sprints est un groupe irlandais qui s’est rapidement imposé sur la scène alternative grâce à son énergie brute et à ses prestations explosives. Mené par la charismatique Karla Chubb, le groupe séduit par son rock intense et engagé.

Entre punk rock, post-punk et rock alternatif, Sprints développe une musique puissante où l’énergie du live occupe une place essentielle.

Depuis la sortie de leur premier album, Sprints enchaîne les festivals européens et confirme son statut de groupe incontournable de la nouvelle scène rock.

Direction ensuite le Club Tent, véritable tremplin pour de nombreux artistes qui rejoignent souvent, quelques années plus tard, les plus grandes scènes du festival. Dès les premières minutes, Sprints impose un rythme effréné. Karla Chubb, véritable pile électrique, occupe chaque recoin de la scène avec une énergie incroyable.
Le public répond immédiatement présent. Les premiers rangs sautent, chantent et accompagnent chaque morceau dans une ambiance électrique. Un concert intense qui restera parmi les plus belles surprises rock de cette première journée.
🎸 Witch Club Satan
👥 Qui sont-elles ?
Witch Club Satan est un trio norvégien de black metal qui bouscule les codes du genre grâce à des performances aussi artistiques que provocatrices. Le groupe propose une approche où musique, théâtre et mise en scène se mêlent pour créer une véritable expérience visuelle.

Black metal, performances artistiques et univers scandinave se rencontrent dans un spectacle sombre, puissant et totalement assumé.

🎤 Le concert
Retour au Dôme pour l’un des concerts que nous attendions le plus. Witch Club Satan ne laisse personne indifférent. Dès les premières minutes, le ton est donné : une scénographie parfaitement maîtrisée, des costumes travaillés, du faux sang, une mise en scène théâtrale et un black metal brut qui plonge immédiatement le public dans leur univers.
Le spectacle est aussi impressionnant visuellement que musicalement. Sans jamais tomber dans la provocation gratuite, le groupe construit une véritable performance artistique qui restera l’une des découvertes les plus marquantes de cette première journée.
🎧 Perceval
👤 Qui est-il ?
Perceval est un DJ français qui s’est fait connaître grâce à un univers médiéval totalement décalé. Mélangeant musique électronique et imaginaire chevaleresque, il propose des sets festifs où humour et second degré occupent une place importante.
🎵 Son univers
Électro, techno et références médiévales se mélangent dans une ambiance festive qui transforme rapidement chaque concert en véritable célébration.
⭐ À retenir
Avec son concept original autour des chevaliers et des châteaux, Perceval est devenu l’un des DJs les plus atypiques de la scène électro française.
🎤 Le concert
Pour conclure cette première journée, direction la scène Vega où Perceval fait danser les derniers festivaliers encore présents. Installé dans son imposant château, le DJ dirige ses « fidèles serviteurs » qui, derrière les barrières, chantent, dansent et répondent à chacun de ses appels.
L’ambiance est totalement décalée mais terriblement efficace. Après une journée riche en découvertes musicales, cette dernière prestation permet de terminer la soirée dans une atmosphère légère, festive et pleine de bonne humeur.
Ainsi s’achève cette première journée de la 49ᵉ édition du Paléo Festival.
Entre découvertes nordiques, grands moments d’émotion, rock explosif, black metal spectaculaire et électro festive, cette première soirée aura parfaitement lancé une semaine qui s’annonce déjà exceptionnelle.
Les kilomètres parcourus sur le site, les milliers de pas enregistrés et les nombreuses scènes visitées rappellent que Paléo est bien plus qu’un festival : c’est une véritable aventure humaine et musicale où chaque détour réserve une nouvelle découverte.

Before the official opening of the 49th edition of the Paléo Festival, members of the media were invited on Monday, July 20, to attend a rather unusual press conference.
This year, the organizers introduced an original concept: instead of gathering everyone in a single location, the press conference became an immersive tour of the festival grounds. Equipped with audio guides, journalists explored the site while learning about the new features and highlights of the 2026 edition.
It was a highly appreciated initiative and an excellent idea, allowing the media to better understand the organization of Switzerland’s largest open-air festival while immersing themselves in the Paléo atmosphere even before the arrival of the first festivalgoers.
The following day, the gates of the 49th edition of the Paléo Festival opened under the intense summer heat. As they do every year, thousands of festivalgoers answered the call, ready to enjoy six days of concerts, performances, discoveries and shared moments.
Beyond the music, Paléo is also a genuine place of life and encounters. Its rich and varied food stalls take visitors on a culinary journey, while the festival’s many bars provide welcome opportunities to stay hydrated during these particularly hot temperatures.
For this opening day, Showmedialive followed six artists performing across several stages. Our journey began at Le Dôme, located in the heart of the Village du Monde, which this year celebrates the cultures and colours of the Nordic countries.

Our journey continued at the Main Stage, where Suzane was making her third appearance at Paléo. From the very first moments, her overflowing energy swept across the venue.
Suzane and her choreography occupied every corner of the stage, making the entire audience vibrate. A giant screen behind her was the only real piece of scenery, but nothing more was needed. Her charisma naturally drew every eye towards her.
There were no unnecessary special effects—just an artist, her music and a genuine connection with the thousands of people who had gathered to see her.
Then came an enormous surprise. As Suzane thanked the audience for helping one of her releases achieve Gold status, someone suddenly walked onto the stage carrying the official Gold Record certification.
The Paléo Festival had begun with a deeply emotional moment. Suzane’s reaction and the warmth of the audience created one of the first unforgettable memories of this 49th edition.

Traditional costumes, ancestral instruments and powerful vocal harmonies carried the audience far away from Nyon, without requiring a single hour of travel. Their music and chants went straight to the heart, creating an intense and deeply immersive experience.
The performance offered a timeless escape, allowing everyone to forget the worries of everyday life for a few precious moments.
When we told you that the temperature would continue to rise beneath Le Dôme, we were not exaggerating. Skald delivered a magnificent performance and confirmed that the Village du Monde would be one of the essential destinations of this 49th edition.

From the very first notes, Sprints set an electrifying pace. Karla Chubb, a true powerhouse on stage, never stopped moving, transmitting her incredible energy to the audience.
The crowd responded instantly. The front rows jumped, sang and celebrated every song with the band. It was an intense and unforgettable performance that undoubtedly ranks among the biggest rock highlights of this opening day.

Back at Le Dôme, it was finally time for one of the performances we had been looking forward to the most.
From the opening moments, Witch Club Satan made it clear that this would be unlike any other concert. Carefully choreographed staging, fake blood, minimal costumes and an impressive visual production created a fascinating theatrical atmosphere.
Musically, the band delivered a brutal and uncompromising black metal performance that perfectly matched the intensity of the show.
It was powerful, disturbing, captivating and visually spectacular all at once. We certainly weren’t disappointed and were genuinely delighted to discover such a unique artistic universe.

To close this opening day, we headed to the Vega Stage, where Perceval transformed the festival into a medieval dance floor.
Performing from the top of his impressive castle, the DJ commanded his loyal « subjects, » who danced, shouted and celebrated every beat as if honouring their knight.
The atmosphere was joyful, light-hearted and completely contagious. It was the perfect way to end a day already filled with remarkable musical discoveries.
The curtain falls on this first day of the 49th edition of the Paléo Festival.
From Nordic discoveries and emotional highlights to explosive rock, theatrical black metal and festive electronic music, the opening day perfectly set the tone for what promises to be an exceptional week.
The kilometres walked across the festival grounds, the thousands of steps taken and the countless musical discoveries once again remind us that Paléo is far more than a music festival.
It is a true human adventure where every path leads to another unforgettable experience.
After a well-deserved night’s rest, it’s time to get ready for tomorrow and another day full of discoveries.
