Heavy Week-End 2026 : une première journée grandiose à Nancy

Le vendredi 5 juin 2026 restera comme une magnifique entrée en matière pour cette nouvelle édition du Heavy Week-End au Zénith Open Air de Nancy. Devant près de 7 000 spectateurs, le festival a lancé les festivités dans une ambiance exceptionnelle, avec un public déjà au rendez-vous dès les premières heures de l’après-midi.

Cette édition avait également une saveur particulière pour notre équipe puisqu’il s’agissait de notre toute première couverture du Heavy Week-End pour ShowMedialive. Une belle occasion de découvrir de l’intérieur l’un des festivals metal les plus attendus de l’année et de partager avec nos lecteurs l’atmosphère unique qui règne sur le site.

C’est le groupe allemand Dominum qui a eu l’honneur d’ouvrir cette édition 2026. Une mission dont les musiciens se sont parfaitement acquittés en chauffant un public déjà très réceptif et impatient de vivre cette grande fête du metal.

La température est encore montée d’un cran avec l’arrivée sur scène d’Avantasia. Le projet de Tobias Sammet a une nouvelle fois démontré pourquoi il est devenu une référence incontournable du metal symphonique. Entouré d’invités prestigieux, le chanteur allemand a offert un spectacle riche en émotions et en surprises. Le public a notamment eu le plaisir de retrouver Kenny Leckremo, chanteur de H.E.A.T, ainsi que Tommy Karevik, chanteur de Kamelot, sans oublier de nombreux autres artistes venus enrichir une prestation déjà portée par l’énergie débordante de Tobias Sammet.

Après ces deux premiers concerts de très haut niveau, la soirée était loin de ralentir. Bien au contraire. Les légendaires Savatage ont poursuivi cette montée en puissance avec un show magistral. Emmené par un Zachary Stevens en grande forme, le groupe a livré une prestation intense et pleine d’émotion, faisant vibrer un public conquis et contribuant à faire grimper encore davantage l’ambiance sur le site du festival.

Pour conclure cette première journée, il fallait une tête d’affiche capable de faire exploser l’ambiance. Et qui mieux que Sabaton pour relever ce défi ? Fidèle à sa réputation, le groupe suédois a proposé un spectacle gigantesque. Véritable machine de guerre scénique, Sabaton a enchaîné les hymnes, les effets pyrotechniques et les tableaux spectaculaires dans une production impressionnante. Que l’on soit fan ou non de leur univers, difficile de ne pas reconnaître l’ampleur et la qualité d’un show aussi monumental.

Au terme de cette première journée, les festivaliers sont repartis avec des étoiles plein les yeux et une seule idée en tête : revenir dès le lendemain pour poursuivre cette magnifique aventure musicale. Quant à l’équipe de ShowMedialive, cette première expérience au Heavy Week-End restera un excellent souvenir.

Si cette première journée est un indicateur de la suite du week-end, alors l’édition 2026 du Heavy Week-End s’annonce déjà comme un très grand cru. Vivement demain !

Heavy Week-End 2026: A Grand Opening Day in Nancy

Friday, June 5, 2026, will be remembered as a spectacular start to this new edition of the Heavy Week-End festival at the Zénith Open Air in Nancy. In front of nearly 7,000 spectators, the festival kicked off in an outstanding atmosphere, with fans already gathering in large numbers from the early hours of the afternoon.

This edition was also particularly special for our team, as it marked ShowMedialive’s very first coverage of the Heavy Week-End. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience one of the most anticipated metal festivals of the year from the inside and to share its unique atmosphere with our readers.

German band Dominum had the honor of opening the 2026 edition. The group fulfilled its mission perfectly, warming up an already enthusiastic crowd eager to celebrate this great metal gathering.

The excitement continued to build with the arrival of Avantasia. Tobias Sammet’s project once again demonstrated why it has become a benchmark in symphonic metal. Surrounded by prestigious guest performers, the German singer delivered a show filled with emotion and surprises. Fans were delighted to see Kenny Leckremo of H.E.A.T and Tommy Karevik of Kamelot join the stage, along with several other talented artists who added even more energy to a performance already driven by Tobias Sammet’s boundless charisma.

After these first two high-caliber performances, there was no sign of the evening slowing down. Quite the opposite. The legendary Savatage kept the momentum going with a masterful show. Led by a Zachary Stevens in outstanding form, the band delivered an intense and emotional performance that captivated the audience and pushed the festival atmosphere to an even higher level.

To close out the first day, a headliner capable of blowing the roof off was needed—and who better than Sabaton for the job? True to their reputation, the Swedish giants delivered a colossal performance. A genuine war machine on stage, Sabaton unleashed anthem after anthem, accompanied by spectacular pyrotechnics and breathtaking visual effects in an impressive production. Whether you are a fan of their music or not, it is impossible not to acknowledge the scale and quality of such a monumental show.

At the end of this first day, festivalgoers left with stars in their eyes and only one thought in mind: returning the next day to continue this incredible musical adventure. As for the ShowMedialive team, this first experience at Heavy Week-End will remain a memorable one.

If this opening day is any indication of what is to come, then the 2026 edition of Heavy Week-End is already shaping up to be an outstanding vintage. Bring on tomorrow!
